Runes and ranger mask - Guild Wars Forums

I understand that you can have 5 runes, one for each piece of equiptment, and that you cannot stack runes. However, can you still have 5 runes and have a +1 mask to raise one of your attribues?

Yes, you can, the bonus on the hedgear stacks with runes.

Thanks. A follow up question. One of the pieces of armor is a shield. Can I put the +1 attribute rune on the shield and still get the benefit, eventhough I am using a two handed weapon, such as the bow?

When I had a focus in one hand and a two handed weapon in the other it showed a red circle with a line through which I took to mean "This item won't work while you're using a two handed weapon". I haven't tried any shields, but I expect it's the same.

That sounds right. But has anyone used a +1 rune for attribute on a shield and still got the bouns even when using a 2 handed weapon?

Through pure logic I gather that the only way the rune will take effect on your stats would be if that shield was equipped. You cannot equip a shield with a two-handed weapon.
